About

Why did I create this blog?

I have been playing the game since I was a child but I only started training and learning the concepts and principles in-depth since 2013. In this blog, I would like to share my experiences and the lessons that I have learned in playing chess that enabled me to appreciate the game more. Also, I hope that this blog could possibly help out those who are also interested in becoming better at chess.

I would like to express my appreciation for the game and what it's worth to those who may not have had a really good impression on it. For those whose interest has been piqued, I hope that this blog may also be helpful in giving you a starting point on ways in which you can further learn more about chess and enjoy it.

I believe that everybody has the capability to learn even the basics of chess and from there, work their way up to more advanced levels but it all depends on one's determination and perseverance to learn about the game and to apply what you have learned. We need to be built both on theory and practice so that the different skills, techniques, and knowledge can truly be imbibed and put into good use.

I also want to at least raise awareness or understanding about chess to the public. In my own small way, I hope that chess may be enjoyed by a lot of people just as much as basketball or baseball or other sports. Hopefully, this little experiment of mine would help to give chess a little more acknowledgment in the general public and in so doing, the players and the whole community would also be able to benefit from it.

About the blog

I named this blog "Chess Evolution" simply because I want to grow and deepen my understanding of chess. I would also want you, the readers, to join me in the journey of learning more about this game. Essentially, I want this blog to be somewhat of a guide for beginners in the game and a journal for myself, jotting down new lessons that I have picked up from my own studies so that you can make use of them. I will be chronicling most of the games that I will play if that would be possible since taking down the notation of games is very tiresome and cumbersome to be honest so I may not record all the games that I will play however, I would be able to get some records on online games although the quality of which may not be at par with over-the-board play.

I would also be noting certain key resources that I have found very useful and people on the web who have helped me to understand complicated principles of chess. I will try to relay chess concepts in the simplest manner possible since there are many resources out there that one would find quite difficult to comprehend unless he has the basics down.

In any case, I hope that this blog would help people who have the same passion that I do for chess and who are willing to spend some time learning the game.

About Me

I love playing the game of chess. I consider myself a casual chess enthusiast with some basic understanding of chess strategy. It would be great if I could study and practice playing chess at least a couple of hours a day but with my current schedule that wouldn't be possible. However, I play a lot of online chess on my free time. Someday, I hope to at least reach master level though given that I have no training regimen, I don't think that is attainable in the near future. With this blog, I would like to share my chess games, realizations, and ideas to anyone who will be interested. I want to help beginners as well.
